It’s Ok to Start Over
Dec 11, 2025
You tried.
You followed the tutorial.
You even double-checked that shoulder flip or waistband buckle…and somehow, it still didn’t feel quite right.
Here’s your permission slip: you can start again.
Babywearing is a skill, not a test. No one expects you to nail it the first time. In fact, it’s a lot like learning to tie your shoes. You probably don’t remember how clumsy it felt at first, but your parents might - loops slipping through fingers, frustration mounting. And then one day, it just… clicked. Eventually, you were tying laces while holding a conversation or walking out the door. Muscle memory took over.
Babywearing works the same way.
Right now, it might feel awkward. The carrier might feel confusing. Your baby might squirm or cry, and you might wonder if it’s worth it.
Keep going. Adjust. Try again. Take a breath and reset. Every time you practice, your brain and body are learning what to do, and so is your baby. One day soon, you’ll reach for that carrier and slip it on without a second thought. It’ll feel like second nature.
Babywearing isn’t just for “naturals” or experts. It’s for anyone willing to learn…including you. All over the world, parents and caregivers are wearing their babies, and you’re part of that legacy now.
You’ve got this.
And if you don’t yet?
You will.
